Out of Retirement

Well Ive decided after several years of not playing with sticks, to jump back in the fray. The problem is I stopped fighting when i was in Vatavia. Now i'm here in AEthelmearc and i don't know any of the households out here. Any help for a Stick Jock that wants to get back in the game, would be appreciated.

    Look for you local shire or group and start there. Many have regular fight practices and if they don't there is usualy a group that travels to one weekly.

    The Shire of Blackwater's Fight practice is currently Sunday afternoons at the Extreme Youth Center on West state street in Olean NY. This is the old Showers United Methodist Church. Directions on our webstie linked to the AEthelmearc website. Heronter's is usually at their normal Thrusday night meetings someplace in Jamestown. Check their website. Hartstone's is I believe Friday nights in Dansville? Again check their website or the Yahoo group they have for more specific directions. All three groups ahve Yahoo groups and I think all of them have websites too?

    Start with the Aethelmearc website and search for the local group.

    Debatable Lands (and environs) has a number of weekly local practices:

    Debatable Lands (greater PIttsburgh) practice is 1 pm - 6pm along Washington Blvd, right by the Pittsburgh Zoo; once it stays lighter later, we'll be adding a Wednesday evening practice (beginning ~6 pm) at the same site;

    Steltonwald (Beaver County) has a practice Tuesday evenings at the Economy Grange in Economy;

    Gryffyn's Keep (western Westmoreland County) has a Wednesday evening practice at Twin Lakes Park in Greensburg;

    St. Swithin's Bog (greater Johnstown) has a Sunday afternoon practice at the Hiram G. Andrews Center Gymnasium in Johnstown;

    King's Crossing (Washington PA) has a practice Friday evening at the Washington Mall in Washington;

    and SunderOak (Butler) has a practice in Alameda Park in Butler

    If you need any further info, you can contact me (marshal@aethelmearc.org) and I'll help as best as I can.
